TROUT FLIES
PROVEN PATTERNS
Gary LaFontaine
Trout Flies is the most powerful cure for on-stream problems the modern angler will ever find!
Gene Mize
Trout Flies, Proven Patterns is a close look at the twenty years of research and innovation that created sixty-two new fly patterns developed by noted angler and author Gary LaFontaine. The nymphs, wets, streamers, emergers, and dry flies included in Trout Flies are shown in both black-and-white and color photographs. Provided are illustrated tying instructions each pattern and descriptions of when and how to fish the fly in specific situations.
Beyond the obvious appeal of hard information, LaFontaine's unique approach includes excerpts from his fishing log (at once humorous and instructive) that detail how he has used and experimented with these patterns. This lends an intimacy that readers are sure to enjoy.

"I've always found his books more stimulating than other pragmatic books; they are original, often iconoclastic, incredibly informed, and they make me think. Trout Flies is no exception. This is a fascinating reference book that you could keep by your bed or in your bathroom, to dip into for wit and wisdom."

Stephen J. Bodio, Fly Rod & Reel
"These patterns are the culmination of more than twenty years of research and innovation. For the first time all of Gary LaFontaine's trout flies, each one pictured in color (with tying instructions), are collected in a single volume. Dries, emergers, nymphs, wets, streamersall of the flies in this series have been proven in specific situations to be the best imitations and attractors available today. They are all here in this great book. They are the secret to being a better fly fisherman."
